Candidates Night

Poster for Coalinga's Candidates Night event, moderated by Mr. Jose Vega on October 15th, 6-8pm, listing various candidates and measures.

With Election Day soon upon us and ballots already mailed to everyone in Fresno County, your Chamber of Commerce is offering an opportunity for you to ask questions that you want answers of those running for Public Offices.  Get answers from the representatives asking for your vote on issues that will directly affect the community we all call home.  We are the ones who decide who will sit in those seats and represent us and the future we want for our community.  Please plan to join us.

Tuesday Oct. 15th 2024 at 6pm in the Coalinga College Theater.

I know that no one wants to sit in an auditorium and write down questions that will be read by a moderator to the panel of candidates, but this is a great way to get let your voice be heard, and to get answers directly from them.

Between Coalinga City Council, Coalinga Huron Recreation & Park District Board of Directors, Coalinga-Huron Joint Unified School Board, Coalinga Health Care Board there are 12 positions and 2 Measure (Extension of Measure "J" and Bond Measure "C") on the 2024 Ballot.

Out of those 12 on the ballot, the 5 who have agreed to participate are:

Coalinga Huron Joint Unified Trustee Area C2

Lisa Gayle Culbertson (Incumbent)

Spenser Davison (Candidate)

Coalinga City Council District 1

Roger Schindler (Incumbent)

Coalinga City Council District 2

James Horn (Incumbent)

Coalinga City Council District 4

Jose "Manny" Ramirez (Incumbent)

Also on the Panel:

Someone will be on the panel to address questions regarding

Ballot Measure "C" - Bond for Coalinga College

Isaac Rodriguez, President of Coalinga Fire Fighters Association

will be on the panel to address questions regarding

Ballot Measure "J" - Extension of 1% Sales Tax (NOT a new tax)

and running for California State Assembly (AD27),

Joanna Garcia Rose (R) will also be participating.

This is NOT a debate.  The candidates will not direct comments at one another.  This is all about getting answers to the questions that matter most to you, the community.  I hope that you will join us.
